Geoff H. Garrett
Prior to joining Holmquist & Gardiner, PLLC as of counsel, Geoffrey H. Garrett was the principal attorney at Byrd Garrett PLLC. With a wealth of experience and expertise in estate planning, probate, trust administration, special needs, elder law, and asset protection, Geoff has been one of the northwest’s heavy hitters in the field of estate planning and administration.
Additionally, Geoff has served as a principal at Garrett Erickson Financial Services, LLC, where he served as an investment advisor and financial coach. Holding FINRA Series 7 and 66 certifications, as well as a Washington State life and disability insurance license.
Notably, Geoff's career spans various achievements and roles. He served as a C-141 pilot during the Vietnam War and completed a distinguished twenty-year military career in the Air Force Reserve as an instructor pilot. Simultaneously, he pursued a challenging career as a senior pilot for United Airlines, rising to the esteemed rank of B-747 captain in the international operation. Geoff's outstanding contributions earned him the honor of being named his airline's 2005 Captain of the Year in Seattle.
Beyond his aviation and legal accomplishments, Geoff served as vice-chairman of the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in United Airlines' multi-billion-dollar bankruptcy from 2002 to 2006. He is a recognized speaker on reorganizing troubled airlines and has written significant papers on airline code sharing and fleet restructuring in bankruptcy.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Geoff shares a loving marriage with Sabina since 1970, and they have two grown children. His personal interests encompass reading history, economics, and philosophy. He finds enjoyment in computers and software, remains an avid bicyclist, and is a recovering former golfer.
